“Jan Kilpatrick is a talented textile artist and lyricist and she also happens to be a family friend! She wrote this poem after my mum had told her about how her job was always to take the cows in at night. I wrote this song very instinctively when I read the poem that Jan sent. The painting was done at Loch Raa in Achnahaird, looking back to the hill where mum would have walked the cows.”
